Program Introduction

NS Provincial Nominee Program for Skilled Workers aims to assist local employers in hiring foreign workers and international graduates with work experience to fill positions that the local labor market cannot supply. The program is open to applicants who have received a full-time permanent job offer letter from an NS employer.

Program Advantages

  • Applicants do not need Canadian work experience
  • No LMIA is required
  • Language requirements are low

 

Applicant Requirements

  • Age: between 21 and 55 years old
  • Work experience: at least 12 months (1560 hours) of NOC 0, A, B, C, or D work experience within the 5 years prior to application
  • NS employer’s job offer letter: 1. For NOC 0, A, and B jobs: a full-time, non-seasonal job offer letter for work located in NS. 2. For NOC C and D jobs: a full-time, non-seasonal job offer letter for work located in NS, and the applicant has worked for the same employer for 6 months (Note: applicants holding a post-graduate work permit and working in NOC D jobs do not meet the requirements)
  • Employer requirements: 1. The company must pay taxes in NS. 2. The company has been operating in NS for at least two years.
  • Language proficiency: 1. For NOC 0, A c11f c11fg, and B jobs: CLB 5 (IELTS 4 in Reading, 5 in Listening, Speaking, and Writing; CELPIP General Test 5 in all four components). 2. For NOC C and D jobs: CLB 4 (IELTS 4.5 in Listening, 3.5 in Reading, 4 in Writing and Speaking; CELPIP General Test 4 in all four components).
  • Education: High school diploma or higher.

 

Application Process

  • Submit an NS Provincial Nominee Program application if the applicant meets the program’s requirements.
  • If the application is approved, the NS Immigration Office will issue a provincial nomination letter and, if necessary, a work permit support letter to the applicant.
  • Apply for permanent residency (applicants can apply for a work permit at the same time and start working in Canada after receiving it).
  • Obtain Canadian permanent residency and successfully immigrate to Canada.
